Musical - The Wizard of the Oz

25 May 2012

Before we went to London Palladium to watch a musical, we walked through the London Eye, Trafalgar Square and some interesting places:

Because it was extraordinary sunny, a lot of people on the street and the sightseeing boat was so full.

London Eye

(don't know where it is. If anyone knows, please tell me)

Admiralty Arch

Trafalgar Square

Finally, though with jet lag, we enjoyed the amazing musical - the Wizard of Oz.

OXO Tower

25 May 2012

We had lunch at the 8th floor of OXO Tower where we could overlook the River Thames. It is also an example that old and new are mixed together quite well.

On the right side is the tower. There is an "OXO" on its wall which are windows.

A close-up from the restaurant.

Have a walk near Buckingham Palace

25 May 2012

A must for a tourist - have a walk near Buckingham Palace and see some royal things.

One of the coaches exhibited in the Royal Mew.

Something was setting up for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebration outside the Palace.

The Mall was decorated with flags.

Outside the Palace - no Changing the Guard ceremony but still a lot of tourists.

May be it was too hot, the horse and the guard seemed sleeping.

Light a candle

25 May 2012

Westminster Cathedral gives me a very peaceful feeling. It seems that worries can be filtered just by walking inside it. Though I am not a catholic or christian, I had lighted a candle there.

What is the meaning of it? Let's see:

Arrival

24 May 2012

Arrived London at about 3.30pm. 26 degree and very sunny - this is what the local people described as extreme weather. They felt like melting but it was very comfortable for me. It was also good for taking photos. Thanks God.

Looking out from hotel window, I had a feeling that I was in Tsimshatsui.

The outlook of the hotel. This location was where we stood when the fire alarm rang on the first day we arrived and we had to get out while we were sleeping.

We walked down six floors by this stairway. Fortunately, no fire, no smoke, just some burning smell at the ground floor. There were some staff at the entrance guiding us to cross the road and wait at some open area.

Another side of the hotel. It is by the side of a train station.

Decoration on the hotel wall. It is a Victoria style architecture.
